Julia & Bryce Wedding Day at Our Lady of Sorrows+ The 1923 Room
The day was January 25, 2020. It had been snowing the days leading up to the weekend, leaving the most perfect amount of snow on the ground for photos. Our Lady of Sorrows church in Kansas City is so historic and beautiful. The long aisle and tall ceilings allow the eye to wander forever. Julia wanted to make sure that we had time to make take wedding party and couple's photos at a few different popular spots in Kansas City before arriving at Heritage Event Spaces: The 1923 Room.
We all hopped on the bus and headed over to Union Station first. The Kansas City Chiefs had just won the Super Bowl though, so Union Station was pretty decked out in Chiefs decor and packed with fans waiting to take photos. We jumped back onto the bus in search of another location and ended up at The National World War I Museum. Since it had just snowed, the area with the best view of Kansas City was roped off. Thankfully, there are so many wonderful spots for photos around downtown Kansas City that it took no time to change spots quickly. Our next ideas were the Kauffman Center and Nelson Atkins Museum. All in all, staying in these awesome spots for just a brief period worked out great with the weather. Warming up again on the bus after being out in the cold helped keep the smiles going! The bride and bridesmaids were especially the troopers for being in dresses.
After arriving at The 1923 Room we found a gentlemen to help Bryce, Julia, and I onto the roof of the building for some sunset photos. This was one of my favorite parts of the day because the view was just amazing and it felt like a little adventure getting out there!
The toasts, the dances, the amazing guests and love between Bryce and Julia will make this day so memorable forever and I'm beyond grateful to have been a part of it all.
